Athens Women in Prayer

We are extending an invitation to all women who seek to join in collective prayer. Every Wednesday, between the hours of 6 AM and 8 AM, we will unite in praying together around the city at our respective homes or wherever we are during that time. We believe that now is the time for a generation of women to step up and get our knees on behalf of our city, schools, and families in the Athens/Oconee area.

To join us and other women in our area, please fill out the form provided. By doing that, you will be able to gain access to a document housing prayer requests for us to collectively bring before the Lord. Also, providing your phone number will help you to receive a helpful text reminder for our designated prayer time.

Let us come together, form a bond of faith, and support each other through the power of prayer.

“For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” -Matthew 18:20

Hi. I’m Mary Glenn Bowen. Below are the fabulous women who are in community with me every other Tuesday morning. Women being in prayer together has been something on my heart for over a year now. Erin (below) felt the nudge that the Lord was sharing that this is something that we can jump in to together as a group of women who love each other, love the Lord, and love our city. From that, each woman (Dana, Lori, Angie, and Jennifer) shared that this is something on their heart too that they would like to lean into. We decided as a group to open this special prayer time up to the rest of women in this wonderful community with hopes of revival, change, and petition on behalf our beloved Classic City!

We are moms, employees, employers, wives, and friends. We love when women band together for something bigger than ourselves. We can not wait to see what the Lord has in store for this group!
